Choose the time of year
Breckenridge is home to world-class skiing and snowboarding in the winter months, while endless opportunities for hiking, biking and golf abound in the summer. Arguably the most beautiful time of the year to visit, autumn in Breckenridge boasts colorful foliage of the aspens. Do most members of your family enjoy snowsports, prefer a cool mountain breeze in the summer, or the changing of the leaves in fall?
Celebrate an event
Many families use reunions as a time to celebrate milestone anniversaries, birthdays or new marriages. For families who have lost loved ones over the year reunions offer the chance to honor that person’s life and celebrate their memory together.
Opt for an off-peak/non-holiday time period
While Breckenridge is beautiful any time of year, visiting during an off-peak/non-holiday time period is highly recommended. Traveling is often more affordable, attractions have shorter lines and restaurants and activities have more availability.
Plan in advance
Between work, school and family commitments, your guests will need plenty of time to plan for the reunion. Preparations should begin at least 6 months to 1 year in advance.
Offer something for everyone
Provide a range of activities to meet varied ages and interests. Plan optional outings such as snowmobiling, a visit to meet Isak Heartstone or a historical ghost tour. Be sure to include some events that will involve all members together and remember to include time to just reminisce and be together.
