Peak 8 Base Camp
Located at the top of the FREE BreckConnect Gondola, adventure awaits at our alpine amusement park with activities for the young and young-at-heart. A few of the attractions you’ll find are the bungee trampoline, the Mineshaft Maze, Ripperoo’s bounce house, mini golf, scenic chair lift, gemstone panning, rock wall, Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine SuperSlide and more! Golf
Elevate your game on one of Breckenridge’s three Jack Nicklaus Signature nine-hole courses (the Bear, the Beaver and the Elk). Breckenridge Golf Club offers group outing rates for 12 or more.
Biking
Rentals for cruiser bikes, road bikes, fat bikes and mountain bikes abound in our town. Tackle Peak 8’s mountain bike park, tour the town or ride the paved recreation path connecting Breckenridge to Frisco (keep in mind that it’s downhill to Frisco but uphill back to Breckenridge). Fly Fishing
Knowing where to go and what the fish will be biting on can be overwhelming. We recommend consulting one of the top local shops like Mountain Angler or Breckenridge Outfitters for help coordinating a guided trip for your group.
Whitewater Rafting
There are a number of whitewater outfitters in the area and most offer these popular trips from Breckenridge.
Blue River (closest)
While this trip is the closest whitewater rafting to Breckenridge, it’s season is short and dependent on water
flow releases from Dillon Reservoir.
Browns Canyon (most popular)
A beautiful 1 hour drive from Breckenridge, Browns Canyon is great for all ages and abilities. Offering more time on the river than the Blue River trip, this trip offers breathtaking mountain and canyon scenery on the Arkansas River.
Royal Gorge (most scenic)
A little further of a drive, the Royal Gorge is a bucket list rafting adventure. Paddle through legendary rapids
beneath the country’s highest suspension bridge. Suitable for ages 13+.
Horseback Riding
Whether you’re looking for a mellow trail ride close by or open ranch riding in picturesque Park County we’ve got something for everyone.
Breckenridge Stables (closest, trail rides)
A great trip for younger children in the group; explore the beautiful scenery just above Breckenridge Ski Resort
as you trail ride between Peaks 9 and 10.
American Safari Ranch (open ranch riding)
Located 29 miles south of Breckenridge, this authentic western ranch can accommodate groups of all sizes.
Platte Ranch (open ranch riding)
Ride on this 8,000+ acre ranch traveling over the South Platte River and experience panoramic views of six
mountain ranges.
Winter Activities
Sledding
Grab your snow tube, saucer or sled and head to one of Breck’s two sledding hills. Carter Park is located four blocks east of Main Street (limited parking) and Runway Sledding Hill (plenty of parking) is located near the free parking lot on Airport Road. Both locations are free, BYOS (bring your own sled) and are open during daylight hours.
Skiing & Snowboarding
Five peaks, 187 trails spread across 2,908 acres and the highest lift-served terrain in North America is what makes Breck a most impressive mountain for winter snowsports enthusiasts. Cross Country Skiing/Snowshoeing
Experience the joy of gliding across snow through quiet forests. Whether it’s cross country skiing or snowshoeing, you can spend as little as an hour out on the trails or all day by choosing the distance and terrain you’d like to explore. Both the Breckenridge Nordic Center on Peak 8 and the Gold Run Nordic Center at the Breckenridge Golf Course offer cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Escape Rooms

Ice Skating
The Stephen C. West Ice Arena is open year-round and has both indoor and outdoor rinks for public skating. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. You can find the current schedule here.
Historic Tours
Founded in 1859 by a small group of prospectors, the Gold Rush brought droves of settlers seeking their fortunes to Breckenridge. Whether it’s a ghost tour or a living history tour through downtown, Breckenridge Tours will take you back in time.

Shopping
History has made Main Street a colorful place to stroll and the perfect place to shop. With over 200 stores to choose from, enjoy quaint bookstores, chic boutiques, art galleries, toy stores and everything in between. Here’s a list of stores in Breckenridge.
GoldRunner Alpine Coaster (winter and summer)
Located at the base of Peak 8, it delivers you 2,500 feet to the bottom, during both winter and summer.
Note: closed for the winter 20/21 season
Scenic Gondola Ride (winter and summer)
Covering almost 400 feet of vertical rise and 7,600 feet in about 13 minutes, the ride offers views of the Tenmile Range and the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve. While the gondola is free and reservations are not required, please be advised that availability to foot traffic may be restricted during winter peak hours (8-10am and 2-4pm).
